How long will Nightline last without Ted Koppel?

Ted Koppel recently announced that he will leave Nightline in December when his contact expires.

Although ABC News executives say they plan to continue the late-night news program, how long will Nightline survive in the post-Koppel era? Will ABC continue its commitment to news programming as an alternative to Leno and Lettermen? What do you think ABC will do?

Peter Jennings has lung cancer, so it won't be long before he leaves, thus ending the "reign" of the stars of the three network news divisions.
The change is taking place, but the question is, will the three networks continue with the news formula of the traditional white, male, talking head with various correspondents? Or examine new models to deliver news to an audience that's increasingly accessing CNN, Fox, and news blogs?
Cable primetime viewership is greater than the networks, although the networks still command the lion's share of the audience overall...how long will the network news programs still command the audience, if they don't consider new and different news models?
